Trauma..and healing

We know that after trauma, a client’s body often holds on to fear. This can make it difficult to be around others. The nervous system (NS) is on constant high alert. Your NS is functionally like a TSA agent at the airport, and every person who comes close to you is literally going through one of those scans. Every person, to your NS, is a potential harm. A client with past history of trauma may DESIRE closeness but their body may say otherwise.

To change this, we (at Soul Chiro) help the body become aware of how it is responding to the threat. We can also find the bound trauma in the body and allow it to unravel on its own. Increased body awareness can help integrate higher and lower brain, and help the “smart” higher brain modulate the body’s reaction.

When we know how trauma can impact our nervous system, we can help it better regulate a defensive state. And we can adapt interventions to be faster and more effective.

Trauma/stress is normal in our human lives, but we have strategies to work with it and heal.
