Exercise and You=BFF

EXERCISE! Ahhh this sexy word right?!? Well, for some it is, and for some we avoid it like the plague. But I want to help you gain some wisdom about mental and physical endurance.

Exercise has been studied in great detail for many years now, and it’s very clear that it has a HUGE impact on your psychological well-being. It can improve symptoms of depression, anxiety, and distress all around.

The reality is if you’re having a tough time, you can help yourself by simply going for a walk. Or lifting weights. Or doing something hardcore like dance or hockey (like some of us ;) It immediately can change your mental state with a miriad of neurotransmitters in your brain. You can use exercise right in the moment of anxiety or sadness to blast that darkness to smithereens.

It adds power to your thoughts.

It calms you down.

It soothes you.

And it makes you feel… epic (because you are)

Now, as if moving that sweet body of yours wasn’t enough, we are going to add a bonus part! Get this, if you add exercise OUTSIDE (yes I know what I’m suggesting for us in the winter) you receive EXTRA mood enhancing benefits. Especially if there are lots of plants around. Folks. it’s called “Green Exercise”, and it levels you up. You’re welcome. Spending time outside calms an agitated mind. Studies have shown with green exercise people report major shifts in outlook and mood

Got irritations? Walk it off with the trees.

Got sadness? Walk it off outside with some birds.

Got anxiety? Get outside!

Nature itself is its own healing balm for our minds. We can’t help but feel awe and wonder, and it naturally slows our internal clock. Now, because I love and appreciate you all, I’m going to give you some easy options for moving that bod of yours!

  • 20 seconds jumping jacks w/10 second rest

  • 20 seconds running in place w/ knees high w/10 seconds of rest

  • 20 seconds plank and 10 second rest

  • 20 seconds mountain climbers

Tell me has anyone in the world ever said after working out “Gosh, I wish I hadn’t done that”.

Whatever you do, beautiful human, just do something. There is no wrong answer here. You deserve to learn how to move through and with your emotions, and your body will thank you. Trust me!

Now order a heated vest (like I did) and go for a walk Dear One.
